My gwfreaks folder slowly gets filled with My Character1.xml, My Character2.xml, My Character3.xml, etc.
Happens when you enter gwfreaks (it creates a new template).

So I wouldnt mind if this super-aggressive autosave feature became optional.
The save-button exists for saving right?

I hope someone can fix it.

Err, thats not what Im talking about.
Read again, I said gwfreaks folder not guildwars folder.

List of my templates/characters folder:
My Character1.xml & My Character1.txt
My Character2.xml & My Character2.txt
My Character3.xml & My Character3.txt
...
My Character15.xml & My Character15.txt

Now I never made those characters, so where did they come from?
Autosave...

So far the only way around this "feature" is to ignore it. No, really. Ignore it. Except in this case the "it" is not the "My Character#" file, but the New button (part of the Character Summary) on the Account Tab.

Instead of using the New button, simply go to the Character Tab and enter a different character name in the Name field. This will cause GWFreaks to save the new character under this new name whenever it decides to save or automatically save the character. (At times I think GWFreaks saves the character without letting the user know.)

So far this is the only means I have found to avoid this behavour. Besides using Window's file operations to delete the "My Character#" files. Or just letting them grow like weeds.

I've made a fix that prevent empty character to be saved. Let me know if the patch 3.1.0 is an amelioration.
