| Hi all, It would be cool if we could have in GWFreaks a localized world map. That squre ly would demand a big effort from the community to have each language map, either by finding a whole explored map or parts from different players that would be merged. Or we could just edit the english world map in photoshop and replace english names. |

| | The best approach Pogs, will be to write on the map the name of the region in the other language. That would just re-used the file PlaceDesc.xml. Breaking news: Version 2.2.1 will be an update for the map: the map will be splitted into many many piece to be memory friendly. The name added could be something done by the same time.

| I'm not sure i get what you mean... You will change code so that the localized place name from placedesc.xml will be displayed on the map ? If so that is really great  and i've done work for nothing  Regarding the split of the world map, I was about to suggest it. I'm glad you thought about it too as the map rendering is really slow and freezes the computer  |

| Anyway as I started the job, I finished it  Find below the world map fully translated into French. It was not really time consumming to translate it, it took only a couple of hours. So Zyo, it'm not sure it worth for you to develop the name display from the placedesc.xml. My psd weights 150 MB but I can upload it on my webspace and share it with the community for them to translate into their own language. With the psd done, it should take one hour at most to make the changes. So tell me if I do it or if you develop the feature.

| | GWFreaks cannot and will not distribute x map because the program is translated into x language... this is a non sences. Even at 5-6 megs it's pretty big for a tool in my opinion. I also think that France-GuildWars have a french map too. Note: Good job, the map is clean

| Glad to know that map optimization is being taken care of. I had finally figured out how to load the map in the fastest time, but it's still slow of course.
As far as that french one, excellent job. Post that on any french guild wars websites you know of, I'm sure they'll like it.

| You could propose it as a separate downloads : French world map pack German world map Pack ... Thus users would only download only the map they want. For example, you could make the installer download only the languages you want. Which languages do you want to install ? r English r French r German, r etc... and that would download only the required files. Thus the tool would be smaller for users. I just realize there was 2 problems with the map : - Roche de l'Augure is not at the right place (in the middle of nowhere) - Old Ascalon is not translated I will fix them |
